A Hakka village in Guangxi, China gets abundant rainfall but also struggles with a critical shortage of fresh water and hygiene problems. HKU’s Project Mingde took on these challenges with the award-winning Duling Educational and Cultural Centre.
Professor Chao Xiang of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering was honoured with the 2025 Croucher Tak Wah Mak Innovation Award in recognition of his research focussed on integrating lasers for advanced photonic integrated circuits.
